Thanks to the Emily Harvey Foundation I was able to live in Venice for 6 weeks during the autumn of 2021. Rather than photographing the canals and buildings my eyes were drawn to the beauty of the paving stones underfoot, including those on the 4 bridges spanning the Grand Canal. In the spring of 2023 I arranged 100 12 x 17" prints representing the Calatrava, Scalzi, Rialto and Accademia bridges on the floor of the Emily Harvey space in New York and then, at the end of the reception for the installation, invited guests to collect a print as a keepsake. |
